Life is complicated right? We are living in an age of information which is delivered to us fast and constantly. Much of it isn’t positive and is designed to make us feel less than, stressed and to create a state of dissatisfaction (so that we buy something).
Many of us are juggling high levels of demands on our time, energy, emotions and resources and those of us who are natural born helpers can struggle with our boundaries leaving us depleted.
We have recently lived through a pandemic where we lived with high levels of uncertainty and fear. For many of us we have had reduced health which is still present today.
Lot’s of time on screens can leave us numb, fuzzy and feeling we are never present in our lives.
In all these ways and many many more we can be impacted by daily life and then, when we go to bed, we just can’t switch off and sleep. Or if we get time to rest our bodies and minds simply won’t co-operate and we feel wired and tired.

You will gently learn all this whilst you experience an enjoyable relaxing practice:
- How to establish a daily practice
- A simple explanation of the anatomy of the breath
- The function of the diaphragm and how to train it to work optimally
- How the nervous system works and practices to help you manage your states
- How to use your breath awareness to check in with yourself as a daily practice
- Calming breaths to reduce stress and alternatives when the breath isn’t available to you (sometimes we are too intensely activated to focus on the breath)
- Uplifting breaths for times when we feel low, foggy or stuck and some other fun ideas for up- regulating
- Why and how breathwork can impact positively on chronic pain and illness and practices to get you in the ‘healing state’
- Coherent Breathing and experience its benefits
- How gentle movement can support breathwork
- How to use the breath to help you get to sleep
- All sessions will end with a guided relaxation

She has been a counsellor for 20 years and is a qualified EFT Practitioner. Joanna came to the gentle practices she now teaches via her own experience of burnout and exhaustion.
Joanna has a deep love of the living world we are part of and is passionate about learning to live more gently for ourselves, our communities and our planet.
